U-Pick
Rules
Of the Pool, Notes & Scoring
- All
Forms and Jelly beans must be turned in by Wed, Midnight,
March 10th.
- Stats
will be updated by the morning after game.
- Make
a copy of your picks before you turn them in.
- The
Web Page standings will be updated every other day or so,
for those interested.
- Whoever
has the highest point total wins.
- Ties
are settled by comparing total correct picks by round, starting
with round
1. In case of exact "correct pick" number, then ties will
be settled by who guessed closest to the final score. If THAT
is the same then Winners split earnings.
- 2nd
place will win at least 10. (Probably 15)
- There
may also be a 3rd "get your jelly beans back" award.
- (Both
7&8 are dependent on the pool total)(PS if pool is larger
than 100 than 5 will be taken out for "maintenance"
J)
- See U-Pick Stats for Scoring info.

NCAA Lottery
Here's the basics:
More will follow.
A one time drawing
will ocur before the first game of the tournament. Each pick will
cost only 2 jelly beans.
The winner AGAINST
THE POINT SPREAD of each game advances.
Here's an example.
Let's say tonight's game has the number 1 seed playing the 16th
seed. The Star & News (which will be the official spread for
this pool) has the number 1 seed winning by 12 points. If the
number 1 seed wins by a 12 point margin or better.. The person
who picked that team advances. The person who picked the 16th
seed loses. If, however, the 16th seed team beats THE SPREAD by
making the final score margin less than 12 points, the owner of the
16th seed now takes ownership of the 1 seed ticket. If the 16th seed
team were to beat the number one seed in this example then the owner
would of course keep that ticket.
Don't let all this confuse you. Our crack staff will make sure
that it all goes down the way it should. You don't really have to do
anything but root for your teams.
Every pick has the same probability for winning. Winner takes
88 Jelly beans, 2nd place gets 20 and 3rd and fourth get 10 each.
Any teams not picked will be donated to the house.
Sweet
Sixteen Auction
Here's the basics:
More will follow:
Soon after the remaining sixteen team are announced, an auction will be
held for each team. (Wed. MARCH 17th!)
20% of the total take will be given to team owners advancing to the Elite
8.
40% of the total take will be given to team owners advancing to the Final
4.
40% will go to the winner.
(This might will be slightly changed soon .. But it will be pretty close
to this format)
Lets say the "Pot"
is 100 jellybeans. I won the bid for the Hoosier with 8 jellybeans.
They win their game and advance to the next round. The other 7 winners
and I, get 2.5 jelly beans. The Hoosies win their next game so
the other 3 winners and I get 10 jellybeans. Of course the Hoosier
win so I'd get the rest.. 40 jellybeans. 52.5 jelly beans for only 8!!!
A bargain at any price!
Stud
Pool
NEW FOR 99!
Check back soon for the official rules but it'll break down something
like this. You will pick the winners for the first round. No one else
but you (and an independent, non-participating manager) will know your
picks. EACH ROUND (64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2) You get to pick all over again.
Rounds are scored (to be deterined soon).. The person with the Most
points wins it all. THERE IS A CATCH. You must pay a few Jelly Beans
for each round. The only thing you'll know is how well you are doing
and who is still in. It's like poker, to a degree. More rules will follow,
look for updates on the main page.
UPDATE: Hungry?
Winner take all. Before You sign up for this you must first have a way
of getting your picks and jelly beans to me in a timley manner. If you
don't feed me with your Jelly beans, your out! As for getting your picks

are assumed to be out (i.e. Dropped) at each round. Only on recieving
word (and Jelly Beans) from you, are you considered in for the next
round.
